Mrs. Duda's Kindergarten Classroom

Rewards and Consequences
Positive and negative reinforcement is important to maintain classroom management within the classroom. I will apply both to my students. I will be utilizing the a stoplight technique for managing their behavior as I have seen in the past it has been successfull. All students will begin their day at green. If a student misbehaves I will verbally give them their 1st warning. When they misbehave again they will move to yellow, receive another verbal warning and lose a priviledge. The third inappropriate behavior will move them to red and I will involve their parents. Students can move backwards on the stoplight if they improve their behavior.
Rewards:
-
Free and frequent rewards such as high fives, knuckles, smiles, stickers, and pats on the backs.
-
Intermittent rewards such as free time or other priviledges, parent phone calls or letters home, and student of the week awards.
Consequences:
-
Receive a verbal warning.
-
Priviledges will be taken away.
-
Call or letter home to the parent which will have to be signed and returned.
-
If behavior continues, the student will ve advised to the office.
"The consequences of an act affect the probability of its occurring again."
