Students are expected to follow rules in my classroom.  However at the beginning of the school year I will allow them to give insight on what rules they believe will promote their academic and personal success in the classroom. I feel that is is important to give students choices and responsiblities that will encourage them to reach for their goals and grow as individuals.  Below are rules that I know are important in enhancing learning, safety, and comfort into the classroom and if students do not choose these rules I will have to add them to the list.  The rules will be posted on the walls of the classroom and will also be sent home to my students parents to be signed and returned.

Rules and Expectations

  1. Listen to instructions, your teacher, and your fellow classmates when they are talking.

  2. Be respectful of others and their belongings.

  3. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

  4. Be kind and considerate to everyone.

  5. Be safe.

  6. Always do your best.

"Children should have enough freedom to be themselves - once they've learned the rules."
